The Client

Sppyns is a fintech startup, whose global marketplace of crypto assets connects experts in managing and trading cryptocurrencies with the most diverse investor profiles.

During the last 2 years, Sppyns and Jungsoft have been working together in building and growing the marketplace platform.

The Problem

The Crypto-coins and tokenized assets have come to stay, but it is still a space dominated by technology enthusiasts. Sppyns' challenge is to demystify and democratize crypto investment opportunities and show that, with good information and the right education, everyone can look for new investment opportunities.

The Solution

With the goal of providing good investment opportunities that are straightforward and easy to understand, while at the same time enabling expert investors to go deep into the technical indicators, we set out to build a friendly marketplace that connects cryptocurrencies funds with investors.

The Implementation

Considering the complex nature of the project, right after we understood our product's main use cases, we proceeded to define the architecture that would enable the functionalities we wanted in a Secure By Design approach.

After experimenting with different tools, we ended up with an architecture that enables us to flexibly interact with both the Ethereum and the Bitcoin blockchains, while keeping the complexity intrinsic to blockchain applications contained. By building on top of open source solutions, we were able to move quickly and be more confident in our product.

Once we had understood how we would build the infrastructure, we went through our Concept Creation phase, in which a high fidelity prototype was built, translating the use cases into a visual representation that would be identical to the final product.

After the prototype was validated, we built the platform through multiple sprints continuously. All new ideas and insights from having real users on the platform were discussed and prioritized collectively with the stakeholders from Sppyns, and then incorporated into future sprints.

We also realized early on that given the complex and resource-heavy architecture we had, it was a good use case for using Kubernetes, which was implemented to increase reliability, making sure we could scale our service as needed.

Before going into production, we made sure to look for any vulnerabilities in the system and patched them, and then went through an external penetration test, which fortunately didn't find any security flaws in our application.

At this moment, we are already running a stable production version for a while, and are continuously building new cool features and adding integrations to new exchanges to support a diverse range of investment strategies.

The Results

Sppyns' platform has been running successfully in production for over a year, and we are happy to have built such an innovative product that is full of complex technical challenges.
